This morning we are going to attend an open house at Istana Nurul Iman, Brunei. Normally Sultan Brunei will organized an open house on the 2nd until 4th day of Hari Raya (if I'm not mistaken). So due our short journey, we went to the palace on the 2nd day and the place were crowded with all different kinds of people. We had joined the Hockian Association Brunei (even we are not Hockian) but according to them, it's faster than you usually go by yourself. Oh well, let us try then...
Before we went to the palace, we need to check our dress attire, make sure is formal wear and no T-SHIRTS, JEANS or SLIPPERS allowed because it shows no respect to the Sultan. Girls better wear Kebaya and Kurung. Boys better wear batik, baju Melayu, or office attire with shoes.
We reported our attendance at 8am in the Hockian Association Office and waited the bus to fetch us at 10am. They had provided 4 buses for all of the member, friends and families. The good things that we followed this association is we didn't had to walk or grab the bus seat when we arrived at the gate palace cause even though you had arrive outside his palace's gate, but the distance that you need to reach to the palace is a little bit far if you walk and the vehicle that you took can't went in. But the bus that fetch us drive in straightly to the palace. Oh WOW~ so damn nice..
We escaped the meal that had been served to all the crowded and we straightly queue in but some how we also need to take nearly 3 hours to see Sultan Brunei's 1st wife. Oh well, I'm not sure how many times I had been visited to the Sultan's palace but I know this is my hubby and our LJ's 1st time to meet the Sultan and his wife. Ha.. At the end, every each of us will get souvenirs but this time is my 1st time I receive different type of souvenir that differentiated between boy and girl. Is kinda cute.. We love it a lotttttttt.... Thanks to Sultan Brunei and families.
Oh well, hope you all spend your precious Raya with your loves one like we did. Hehe..
